The Annual Sumner Arts Festival is a chance to bring the entire Sumner County Community together!
Each year thousands of residents from the five cities come together for a week filled with fun!
Popular events include nightly concerts, daily live music, marching band parades, carnival rides, food booths, local business tents, and much more!
Each and every year there is also a special guest from our community that is presented with the award of Mr. or Mrs. Sumner County!
This prize is held by the recipient for one year, until the next year when a new winner is chosen!
The Sumner Arts Festival has been going on for the past 15 years. Year after year the event has grown in attendance.
The week long event is filled with fun for the whole family – and dogs are allowed to come too!
In fact, one of the best parts about the festival is that we have several dog playpens setup around the festival for you to drop your dog off when you walk around! These dog pens are metal, heavy-duty dog playpens that are going to ensure that all dogs are protected and all people are protected from dogs. We feel it’s going to be a fun time for both dogs and people a like. We bought only the best dog playpens for our community members. We had thought of buying cheap dog playpens but decided against it, because we want to use these dog playpens for many, many years to come.
One of the biggest pieces of feedback that we had gotten over the years was why we weren’t allowing dogs to partake in the fun. Truth be told, there had been a plethora of instances where people complained about dog poop not being picked up off the ground. In addition, dogs urinate all over posts and trees and the ground. This can become unpleasant for concert-goers that are looking for a place to sit or perch. The last thing we want is for one of our guests to sit in dog waste.
However, there has been overwhelming feedback that we needed to change our policy and allow dogs to come to the festival. As a result, this is the first year that we are going to be allowing dogs to come to our festival! We really hope that all dog owners are going to be picking up after their dog. Our worst fear is that a few bad dog owners are going to ruin it for the rest of us.
