The Chamber will be hosting the 2012 Sumner Art & Rhubarb Pie Festival. Please join us in making it a unforgettable community experience.
Why the Change in the traditional Name? The Sumner Art Festival has been renamed to include Sumner’s worldwide claim to fame as the Rhubarb Pie Capital. Preparations for the 2012 Sumner Art & Rhubarb Pie Festival are under way and we want to invite you to join us in the weekend of fun!
The two-day annual event will be held this year on Friday, August 3rd, and Saturday, August 4th, 2012 and we anticipate an extremely successful event.
The Sumner Art & Rhubarb Pie Festival will once again be held on Main Street downtown, in the core of the Sumner Community. The Downtown shops will be open to the public and always have a successful weekend. In addition to the normal vendor booths, shops and the Ryan House Museum tours, we’ve added new elements to the event like a new entertainment stage near the food court, culinary artists, expanded youth entertainment area plus historic Heritage park will feature new mobile food vendors, the Rhubarb Barrel House with micro-brew tastings, and a evening street dance.
The Sumner Art & Rhubarb Pie Festival Marketplace can accommodate up to 100+ fine artists and crafters from around the country. Artists will offer work in a wide variety of juried mediums including painting, ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, photography, fiber, metal and more.
In addition to the artists and performers, there will be a Food Court which will feature 12+ food vendors including the ever popular Sumner Rotary Pie Booth. Free performances by community acts will be presented on the Multi Cultural Stage.
The two day festival will host approximately 10,000 people over the course of the weekend. We are dedicated to providing the exhibiting artists, food vendors and community members the support needed to experience an enjoyable and profitable weekend.
Festival Dates & Hours:
Friday: August 3rd, from 10am until 8pm.
Saturday: August 4th, from 10am to 7pm.
The Rhubarb Barrel House and Live Band Stage will be Open:
Friday: August 3rd, from 3pm until 11pm.
Saturday: August 4th, from 3pm to 10pm.
